Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born on March 4, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress as well as a comedian and writer. O'Hara has won a number of awards, including the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also received two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. Then, in 2020, she received the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara was first noticed as an actress in 1974, as she was a part of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. She was part of the main cast in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) along with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. O'Hara began working with Candy on Second City Television's sketch comedy show (1976-1984). O'Hara was acknowledged for her stand-up comedy and writing skills, winning the Primetime Emmy Award of Outstanding Writing for Variety Series in 1981. O'Hara was appointed to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
